Free Orchards Elementary
History
'Fox Farm', named by students in the fall of 2022 began as just a learning space for Free Orchards Elementary School. A grant through the Hillsboro School District - along with donations and labor from volunteers - created the 'Barn' in 2013.
The garden beds and fence were added later, and over the years teachers have used the garden for teaching their students. In the fall of 2022, a volunteer teacher began revamping the garden and providing weekly lessons for classes.

Students take home zucchini and summer squash from Summer Garden Club at Free Orchards' Back to School Night in September.
Mr. Carter's 4th grade class works with Principal Gabby to harvest garlic they planted as 3rd graders.
Students clear our herb garden for the winter and taste-test along the way.
Students in Mrs. Manos' 3rd grade enjoy Salsa Week at Fox Farm. Over 60 pounds of produce were donated from Liberty High School's Falcon Farm to make this year's salsa.
Students harvest native Columbine seeds to use in our Fox Farm Seed Library.
