Fox Farm Seed Library

At Fox Farm, we recognize the need to save seeds for future use. Not only do we save money by growing and storing our own seeds, but the knowledge of how plants grow from seeds is reinforced when students dry and harvest at the end of seasons.

In the fall of 2024, 5th grade students at Fox Farm created the Fox Farm Seed Library, an online database that allows other Hillsboro School District schools to reach out and request seeds for their school gardens. At present, ten different schools have requested access to the seed catalog.

As of the spring of 2025, another HSD school has joined in with the creation of their own seed catalog. Oak Street Campus now has a database that other schools can access. It was created as part of an internship with Fox Farm.
